Tell Thom Tillis - Frances
Frances moved to North Carolina looking for brighter opportunities for her family. Speaker Tillis’ cuts to education and wrong priorities have put those opportunities at risk.
Elections matter. In America, we solve problems with more democracy, not less.
In order to successfully vote, you need to know the rules of the road. The requirements for voting vary from state to state – so make sure you read your state’s guidelines section so that you know what it takes to vote.
You’re going to need to share some basic information about yourself (like your name and where you live). You may also need a printer, some stamps and an envelope, so that you can mail your completed voter registration application to the appropriate state office.
Justin, a teacher from Charlotte and a North Carolina Teacher of the Year, tells Speaker Tillis about how the North Carolina Teaching Fellows scholarship, which Speaker Tillis eliminated, allowed him to go to college and fulfill his dream despite growing up in a low-income family.
Tell Thom Tillis - Linda
Linda, a teacher and school librarian in Wake County, chose to retire early rather than return to a school where she faced little support, low morale, and had to step in to maintain overhead projectors and out-of-date printers due to Speaker Tillis’ wrong priorities about education.
